Challenges & Goals

The 8BitSkull team approached UberStrategist for a two-month influencer marketing campaign to boost visibility for Bore Blasters during Steam Next Fest and its launch.

With Next Fest being crowded, our challenge was to make Bore Blasters stand out. We focused on highlighting what makes the game unique to capture the attention of creators and secure coverage.

Strategic Approach

Before Steam Next Fest, we curated influencer lists of roguelike content creators and reached out to showcase the Bore Blasters demo.

This strategy resulted in ample coverage for the game in the days leading up to Steam Next Fest, which allowed us to get ahead of the competition. As a result of the influencer activity and the buzz it generated, Bore Blasters saw a spike in wishlists during Steam Next Fest. After the festival, we shifted our focus to scoring early reviews from key content creators.

Results

The influencer strategy for Steam Next Fest was key to Bore Blasters’ launch. We secured coverage from trusted creators like Nookrium, Splattercatgaming, and Wanderbots, whose loyal communities helped boost Steam wishlists from 3,000 to over 18,000 before launch.

By the end of the engagement, our organic influencer campaign resulted in nearly 100 pieces of content from creators specializing in variety and roguelike genres. With over 3.5 million impressions, the campaign successfully reached our target audiences and increased awareness, interest, wishlists, and downloads for Bore Blasters.
