Free League Publishing returned to UberStrategist for support on Blade Runner: Replicant Rebellion, the first major expansion for its award-winning Blade Runner RPG.
While our team had a trusted strategy in place, expansions are often harder to promote than new games—especially during a crowded Kickstarter season. Our goal was to help the campaign stand out from other tabletop launches, generate strong press visibility, and maintain Free League’s record of rapid Kickstarter funding.
We built our strategy around the strength of the Blade Runner IP, highlighting the expansion’s unique angle of letting players experience the world as Replicants. We pre-pitched trusted tabletop outlets, focused on the narrative twist, and targeted writers who covered the original RPG launch.
Our PR support ran from the announcement through late pledges. Throughout the campaign, we offered regular press updates to maintain visibility and momentum.
Our campaign secured widespread coverage across key tabletop outlets, including GamesRadar+, Bell of Lost Souls, Wargamer, Dicebreaker, and TechRaptor. This media visibility helped the campaign meet its funding goal in just 12 minutes—continuing Free League’s streak of fast-funded projects.
The campaign raised hundreds of thousands of dollars and unlocked nine stretch goals as we maintained momentum well into the late pledge period. With strong press coverage and standout community support, Replicant Rebellion reinforced Free League’s position as a leader in licensed tabletop RPGs.
“Needless to say, I am very excited to give Replicant Rebellion a try.”
