Challenges & Goals

SwissGames by Pro Helvetia (Switzerland’s initiative to promote its game development scene) brought a delegation of seven indie studios to GDC. They aimed to put Switzerland’s game industry on the global map and showcase their developers.

SwissGames turned to UberStrategist to secure meaningful press attention and prepare the studios for increased media attention. The challenge was to craft unique angles for each title and position them effectively for the international gaming press.

Strategic Approach

We began by collaborating with SwissGames to develop engaging narratives for each of the seven projects. These included an Eldritch roguelike, a wizard school colony builder, and a futuristic farming simulator, each requiring tailored messaging to resonate with the media.

Our team developed engaging angles per studio and project, then pitched outreach to engage the press and secure in-person appointments to play hands-on demos. We also sent media blasts to encourage coverage of new assets, such as teaser trailers.

Results

Our efforts secured impactful coverage across a variety of Tier 1 and niche outlets, including GAMINGbible, Digital Trends, IGN, Bleeding Cool, Sector, Turn-Based Lovers, and The Indie Informer. News, trailers, and demo impressions highlighted each game's unique strengths.

By amplifying SwissGames’ presence at GDC, we helped position Switzerland’s game development industry as a creative powerhouse. The successful campaign exceeded expectations, giving each participating studio increased visibility and establishing a strong foundation for future global opportunities.
