Today Bungie took the next step in its evolution into a multi-game studio with the announcement of its next game: Marathon, a new sci-fi extraction shooter and the first completely new project from the studio in more than a decade. Marathon is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC with full cross save and cross play, and no release date has been announced. Coinciding with the announcement, Bungie released the first CGI trailer for the game, showing off a first look at the world of Marathon, a glimpse of the player characters—known in game as “Runners”—and the game’s bold visual style.

Lightfall is the penultimate chapter in Destiny 2’s ongoing “Light & Darkness Saga,” and will find Guardians encountering the malevolent forces of the Shadow Legion, exploring a secret city hidden on the surface of Neptune, and discovering a new Darkness-powered subclass: Strand.

During a special Showcase event, Bungie announced the first details for Destiny 2: Lightfall, the latest expansion for Destiny 2, launching on February 28, 2023. Lightfall is the penultimate chapter of Destiny 2’s Light and Darkness saga and continues the epic story that has been almost ten years in the telling. In addition, Bungie revealed a new partnership with Epic Games that brings Destiny 2 to the Epic Games Store and sees content from Destiny appearing in two Epic games: Fortnite and Fall Guys, as well as Fortnite-inspired ornament sets appearing in Destiny 2 – the first time original Fortnite characters have appeared in another videogame series.
