Our goal for this 1-year campaign was to promote Nightdive Studios’ remaster of the iconic shooter Star Wars: Dark Forces.
With such a high-profile property in hand, we had to design a campaign that handled the Star Wars license with the utmost care. We worked closely with Lucasfilm Games to ensure the campaign adhered to approval processes and positively positioned both the brand and the remaster.
On behalf of our client, we developed a comprehensive PR and marketing plan with a steady cadence of impactful promotional activities.— each of which we communicated the value proposition to partner Lucasfilm Games to get approval and go-ahead for our creative ideas.
Our campaign featured multiple high-value press exclusives, including announcement stories to generate interest and buzz at gamescom. We also arranged high-impact cross-promotional activations with gaming hardware brand Alienware, the PlayStation Blog, and StarWars.com.
We achieved out-of-this-world results, with Nightdive Studios crediting the launch campaign as our most successful to date.
The campaign exceeded all expectations, driving significant attention for the Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster.
We secured favorable editorials about the client and the game from global mainstream and video game publications, including Empire, Entertainment Weekly, The New York Times, Digital Foundry, Eurogamer, GameSpot, and IGN, as well as print cover stories on PC Gamer Magazine and Retro Gamer Magazine.
