Each year, SwissGames showcases Switzerland’s top indie devs at major gaming trade events. Ahead of GDC, they enlisted ÜberStrategist to provide media training to developers with little experience speaking to the press.
With global media attending GDC, it was vital for the devs to speak confidently about their games. The training prepared them for in- person and online interviews, providing a lasting skill for future engagements.
Many developers had never spoken about their games on stage before, so our media training needed to fully prepare them for GDC just weeks away.
With decades of PR experience, we held relaxed group sessions covering interview basics and concluding with Q&As. Developers received digital checklists and recaps for review, and optional 1-on-1 sessions offered extra confidence before the event.
The SwissGames delegation arrived at GDC ready to take on any question from the press.
Developers entered the show floor with key messages to effectively communicate their games' selling points and coverage goals, such as increased visibility or more Steam wishlists.
The success of the media training was evident when some devs, interviewed by Game Informer on the controversial topic of AI in game development, handled it smoothly without backlash.
