XOTIC PC, an online merchant of gaming PCs, approached UberStrategist to elevate its brand awareness and media presence. Despite earning strong consumer satisfaction since 1999, the company remained relatively unknown within gaming circles and struggled to engage the press. Without a clear media strategy, XOTIC PC lacked the visibility needed to stand out in a highly competitive market.

Our goal was to position XOTIC PC as a leading name in custom-built gaming systems by securing consistent press coverage, fostering relationships with gaming and tech media, and expanding its reach through strategic event partnerships.

Strategic Approach

We launched a co-branded PR and product seeding initiative, leveraging editorial coverage for new components while securing favorable reviews for XOTIC PC and its partners. Regular outreach campaigns highlighted the latest components and pre-built PC SKUs available through XOTIC PC’s online store.

Beyond media engagement, we contributed to website product copy and established a trade show, influencer, and press event seeding program to significantly increase XOTIC PC’s visibility at major gaming events.

Results

Our campaign significantly expanded XOTIC PC’s media presence, securing widespread coverage across gaming and tech outlets and reinforcing the brand’s credibility among PC gaming enthusiasts. Notable placements included NotebookCheck, Tom’s Hardware, Maximum PC, Gizmodo, Hot Hardware, PC Mag, and Digital Trends.

Beyond press coverage, we strengthened XOTIC PC’s industry relationships by brokering trade show partnerships with Devolver Digital, 3D Realms, Versus Evil, IMGN.PRO, and Intel. By driving visibility through media outreach and event integrations, our efforts positioned XOTIC PC as a recognized player in the custom PC market.
